When painting around hard to paint items apply a generous amount of vaseline on and around the base of them. The paint will just wipe off of the greased area.
For example: Door knobs, light covers, hinges.

Many of us hate cleaning our ovens but with this tip you will find it is not so bad and it is a very green way to clean.
Buy or find you an empty spray bottle and some baking soda. Then place 3 large teaspoons of baking soda into the bottle and add warm water. Shake the spray bottle so the baking soda dissolves.
While your oven is cold (very important) spray your baking soda and water solution onto the areas that need to be cleaned. You can do this as often as you like and still use your oven if needed. The solution of wet baking soda will break up the carbon (black stuff) that so desperately needs to be cleaned and if the baking soda gets into any of your food it is okay because it is the most widely used ingredients in recipes and it is safe.
Please note that your oven will look like a mess because it will be white but the carbon that was on the sides and top of your oven will fall to the bottom and settle as powder. When ready just wipe with a wet paper towel and your oven looks great!
*For better results just continue to repeat the process of spraying before wiping. The buildup of baking soda is what really makes this work.

Forget unruly plastic bags that just get in the way under your cabinet. An empty tissue box keeps them neatly corralled and ready for use. Who knew!

Did you know that chalk is a natural moisture absorber. Tie a few pieces in some cheesecloth and store them with your good silver to slow down any tarnishing. It can save you some time later.

To easily clean lime deposits and iron stains inside the dishwasher just pour a packet of lemonade Kool-Aid (the only flavor that works) into the detergent cup and run the (empty) dishwasher. The citric acid in the mix wipes out stains and you don’t have to.

Use leftover club soda to water your indoor and outdoor plants. The minerals in the soda water help green plants grow. For best results, try to water your plants with club soda once a week.
